あかつき電波掩蔽観測による金星低緯度の硫酸蒸気混合比の導出
◆研究概要
金星の雲の主成分は濃硫酸の液滴であり、硫酸蒸気が雲の主材料になる。よって、硫酸蒸気の分布は金星雲物理の理解に重要な手掛かりを与える。本年度の研究では、あかつき電波掩蔽観測データを解析することで、金星低緯度の硫酸蒸気混合比を導出することを目的とする。電波掩蔽観測とは、地上局から見て探査機が惑星の背後に隠れる時、または背後から出てくる時に電波を射出し、探査機の軌道運動と大気による屈折で電波の受信周波数が時間変化(ドップラーシフト)することを利用して、気温と気圧の高度分布が得られる。また、硫酸蒸気はGHz帯の電波に対して良い吸収性があり、受信強度が時間変化する。気温・気圧分布と受信強度データを併用すれば、硫酸蒸気混合比の高度分布が導出できる。本研究で得られた結果について、他の電波掩蔽観測で得られた結果や数値モデルを用いた理論研究と比較することで、金星雲物理の理解に繋げたい。 |
