◆研究課題心理言語学 ◆研究概要母語獲得　First Language Acquisition ヒトはどのようにして言語を獲得するのか、そのメカニズムを探っています。私達は皆、子どもの時に言語を自然に獲得しますが、そのためにはどのような脳内の機能が必要なのか、どのような学習能力が必要なのか、またどのようなインプットデータが必要なのか、そのようなことを日本語を獲得する子どもに対する実験を通して研究しています。第二言語習得　Second Language Acquisition 大人になってから外国語を学ぶ過程では、子どもの母語獲得には見られない特徴があります。しかし、また、子どもの母語獲得と驚くほど似た発達過程があることも分かっています。第二言語習得における言語能力の特徴や学習のメカニズムを日本語学習と英語学習を中心に研究しています。言語処理　Language Processing 文はそれが伝える内容が同じでも、ある特定の構造を持ったものは、別の構造を持ったものより理解しやすかったり、反応速度が速かったりします。何が原因で文理解における人間の言語処理能力に差が生じるのか、日本語の語順を中心に研究しています。外国語教育　Foreign Language Education 日本語教師を目指したことが言語学を始めるきっかけとなりました。日本とアメリカで日本語を教え、現在は、主に英語関係の科目を教えています。
