| 概要 | Extensive reading was introduced in the Department of English at Kyoto Sangyo University by Thomas Robb in 1987 as a required course for first year students. As a result of curriculum changes introduced in 2000, it became integrated into the first and second year “Intensive” program. The presenter explained the current system in which students borrowed readers from the reserved section of the library, read them outside the classroom, took computer based quizzes to earn points for the books they had read, and wrote summaries as follow-up work. Student attitudes and responses were discussed as well as the problems, modifications and successes of the current system. |
