概要 | This plenary session had three parts. First, we looked at the processes that the brain undergoes when learning to read in a first language, and noted the ways in which learning to read in an additional language can be different. Next, drawing on findings in psychology and neuroscience, and using examples from the presenter’s own qualitative research, we explored the roles of the phonological loop (our “inner ear” and “inner voice”) and working memory when reading. The final part focused on what publishers, teachers, and learners need to know when making, using, and evaluating ER materials and programs. |
