概要 | This presentation explained how the ER program at Kyoto Sangyo University expanded from a once-a-week reading-in-class activity for first year English majors to a required component of a 4-skills course for first and second year English majors and then a required component for all 3,000 first-year students in the university. The main focus was the introduction of the MoodleReader Module by Thomas Robb. This software program allowed students to read and take quizzes online at any time and controlled the level of the books students could take quizzes on and promoted them to the next level automatically when they had passed the required number of quizzes. The system could also indicate when students cheated by taking the same quiz together or taking a quiz for a fellow student. The main drawback was that volunteers were needed (mainly teachers) to write new quizzes when new books were added to the program. |
