概要 This article described the reasons behind and the experiences of taking the author's twin sons out of Japanese day care and providing them with an immersive experience in English at the local international school for 6 months in first grade before they started in first grade at the local Japanese public elementary school. Although they were behind their peers in terms of English literacy when they started at the international school, their comprehension and speaking skills improved enormously and this boosted their interest in English and the English-speaking world.
