概要 GrpE protein from Thermus thermophilus has been crystallized by the use of both 2-methyl-2,4-pentanediol and acetic acid as precipitants. It was found that heat treatment at 40 degrees C was indispensable to obtain single crystals of this protein. Here we report one of the most typical examples of the effective temperature induction method in protein crystallization. In this case, no crystals were obtained if the heat treatment was not employed. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
