概要 | Multiracial children are noticed wherever they go because they do not fit the stereotyped racial characteristics that people expect. The central message of this book is that multiracial children must have a clear understanding of who they are and feel proud of their mixed heritage. The author combined her research with research by others to create a comprehensive guide. The first chapters focus on four age groups (pre-school, early grade school, middle childhood, and adolescence) and the emerging consciousness of racial issues among multiracial children at each of these stages. Chapter 5 focuses not only what parents can do, but also local communities and schools. The final chapter looks at the latest research in genetics which shows that there are no clear genetic differences between the races. |
